Der Igel ist ein Insektenfresser, der sich von Schnecken, Nacktschnecken, W\u00fcrmern, Raupen, Larven und anderen Insekten ern\u00e4hrt, die manchmal die Ernten sch\u00e4digen k\u00f6nnen. Er ist somit ein wertvoller Helfer f\u00fcr G\u00e4rtner.<\/p>\n

Der Igel spielt eine entscheidende Rolle in der Biodiversit\u00e4t. Er ist eine sogenannte \u201eRegenschutzart\u201c, was bedeutet, dass wir durch den Schutz des Igels und seines Lebensraums (Hecken, nat\u00fcrliche Vegetation, Heckengr\u00e4ben) viele andere Arten sch\u00fctzen. Wenn man dem Igel Futter gibt, wird er sich daran gew\u00f6hnen. Eine \u00fcberm\u00e4\u00dfige F\u00fctterung kann das Verhalten des Igels ver\u00e4ndern und ihn davon abhalten, Insekten zu jagen.
